| The success of our program can be measured in many ways. Among them are measures of student outcomes. What percentage of students finish the program within the expected time frame? How many students pass the national examination in Speech-Language Pathology? And, how many graduates find jobs? Below we report data on these three ways we measure student success.
First, our graduate program (also known as the professional phase) is six semesters long over two calendar years. Of those students who graduated from our program in the past three years, 99% completed the program in the expected six semesters.

Next, to earn national certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) students must pass a national examination (often referred to as the ASHA Exam or the Praxis Exam). Nationally across all graduate programs, the average pass rate is 80.5% over the past three years. Our students exceed that rate by over 15 percentage points; Duquesne's three year average is 96%.

A third measure of student and program success is how readily graduates are employed. By student self-report, over the past three years an average of 99% of our graduates were employed in the profession within three months of graduation.
