Workplace Satisfaction

A very important factor in choosing a career is finding one that will give you daily satisfaction. As in every career there are aspects of the job that are not fun (in speech-language pathology this often has to do with the paperwork required to document progress). However, overwhelmingly speech-language pathologists find their work to be challenging, stimulating and they derive great satisfaction from being able to help people achieve their goals through communication. A key point of a story in the Feb 18, 2002 issue of US News and World Report was that speech-language pathologists reported having high job satisfaction.
