Dr. Diane Williams is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology. She received her doctoral degree from Bowling Green State University, her master's degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and her bachelor's degree from Auburn University . Her areas of interest and expertise include autism, developmental language disorders, and augmentative communication.
Dr. Williams is associated with the Autism Research Program at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University where she conducts functional magnetic resonance imaging and behavioral studies of cognitive and linguistic processing in autism. She has extensive clinical experience with children and adults with autism and other developmental disorders with a wide range of language abilities. She has worked in early intervention programs, preschool programs, community agencies, pediatric hospitals, and University clinics. She has previously supervised and taught students at Bowling Green State University and Indiana University , Bloomington .
