The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Duquesne University offers a unique program designed to give students an excellent academic and clinical education plus broad experience at an accelerated pace. Here's what you'll find:

  • The nation's FIRST 5-year program that guarantees students a bachelor's AND master's degree upon completion (of course students must meet academic and professional criteria). Over 95% of students graduating classes in 2000, 2001, and 2002 completed the program in the five-year timeline. The remaining students finishing after one additional semester.

  • Integrated academics, clinical practice and research.

  • State-of-the-art equipment and facilities that give students real-world experience in assessing and treating speech, language and hearing problems.

  • A large and diverse network of externship sites and dedicated clinical instructors who teach students in real-world settings.

  • Faculty members who are committed to teaching as well as research, bringing students the best possible academic and clinical education.

  • Staff who go the extra-mile to help students succeed.

  • A rich student life with plenty of opportunities for fun, athletics, networking, volunteerism, travel and more.

While the SLP program requirements are the same for all students, differences may exist based on when students enter the program and any previous academic background. Below, select a link for the information path that best describes who you are and where on the road toward the master's degree you will enter the program.
