Some guidelines by which group presentations will be evaluated appear below:
CONTENT-RELATED COMPONENTS (40 points)
The group presentation of the case scenario should include the following...
- Identification of the ethical concerns and the specific rules of the ASHA Code of Ethics associated with them. An adequate evaluation of the information presented in the case regarding it's validity, truth, and probability. In some cases this means identifying information that is missing from the case that would be meaningful to have. Audience members are afforded the opportunity to question the various characters in the scenario.
- A resolution proposed that is supported by a rationale that considers the impact of all stakeholders, on broader social issues, and promotes the principles of the ASHA Code of Ethics
COMMUNICATION-EFFECTIVENESS COMPONENTS (10 points)
The group presentation should...
- Present the scenario in a clear, understandable way that will engage the participation of the entire class
- Effectively use the time allotted for the group presentation (30 minutes)
The presentations can include any medium that the classroom is able to support, including (but not limited to) video, PowerPoint, overheads, ??? -- please be as creative as you wish, but remember that getting the information across to the audience is the primary objective. The intent of acting out the scenarios is that they "come to life" and be fun. It is suggested that each group us a narrator to guide the audience through the enactment of the scenario.
All members of a group will receive the same score for the presentation.
